A Bay Area native pioneered the San Francisco Drum and Bass scene and co-founded the much-respected Phunckateck collective. “We’re like a family”, is how he describes the San Francisco Drum & Bass scene, “We have mutual respect, and we can create with no boundaries.” Prolific in the studio, he is one of the most innovative producers in the U.S.

UFO!’s drive and genius for producing, his extensive discography and his innate musical ability, has him on a journey breaking his boundaries. Never satisfied with his accomplishments, UFO!’s musical quest leads him to a twist in the road, as he heads to New York City and launche his new label Phracktal.
His vision is to create his own sound whether it’s Noise, Drum & Bass wherever his imagination and musical inspiration takes him. He can release projects that reflect his personality and emotional content. Phracktal will allow UFO! the opportunity to explore many creative outlets. 2002 saw UFO! releasing an original material CD on Thermal Recordings, called "The Future is Listening”. With over two dozen releases under his belt, an impressive mix CD out on Vortex called “Maelstrom,” and a special edition mix CD for Circa footwear, UFO! has already built an impressive repertoire. Armed with his laptop UFO! heads into new territory as he continues to collaborate with an extraordinary list of artist. He is currently working on “Sonietta”, a project with respected producer Jamie Lamon from Westside Chemical. He has also worked with other creative giants including, Hive, Echo, and Techno producer John Tejada.

Drum & Bass maverick, UFO! uses the lastest software programs to generate and process sounds and loops in live realtime action. He has added a new dimension to his mixing skills by using his laptop to enhance his sets incorporating tracks and sounds directly from his laptop while dexteriously continuing to mix records. Also in the works, he is forming a “Rock, Noise, Experimental” band influenced by groups like Radiohead and Blonde Red Head.

His new groundbreaking style has the Drum & Bass community taking notice. He is a visionary and a true representation of futuristic American Drum & Bass presented in a tasteful manner. Often understated is his influence on the revolution and some say the evolution of the U.S. sound. With his self-described “Bladerunner Funk” style, UFO! is constantly touring but even with his heavy schedule he takes every opportunity he gets and continues working on his latest projects which have included remixing a track for Hollywood Records, rock band Tinfed, called “Drop”, and several singles including “Tech has Taken Over Me”, “Sideswipe” (produced with Kaos) and “Besame” (produced with Arqer and Realtime).

Featured in magazines such as URB, XLR8R, Lotus, Mixmag, Knowledge, and many others, UFO! is one of the most sought after producers in the U.S. Record labels across the country clamor for a UFO! remix, which guarantees a dance floor hit. His dub plates have become collector’s items as he draws his own artwork, by hand, on every cover. His creativity and individualized flare carries over into his artwork, which is also sought after by designers and publications.

UFO! is highly respected not just in the Drum and Bass community but also by DJs and producers in other genres worldwide. Returning from a successful European tour in 2000, it was apparent that UFO! was in demand. He returned to Europe on a very successful one month tour sponsored by Circa Footwear in June of 2001. The tour consistend of supporting the Circa Team, which included skate luminaries such as Chad Muska, Jamie Tomas and Mark Appleyard. This has also led to UFO! being spotlighted in the next Circa Campaign, helping to establish him not only in the world of drum and bass but also exposing his genius to a wider audience.

Accolades seem to follow UFO! as he was also honored as the “Best Drum & Bass DJ” by SF-Nite’s Clubby Awards 2001. UFO! still receives fan mail for his 1999 anthem, “Enemy Infiltration”, which blazed across the U.S. and abroad. The stunning string arrangement on this track had producers from the revered Trouble on Vinyl label from the U.K. sampling it for one of their own releases called “Mission Control”.

For inspiration, UFO! listens to all genres of music and often just sounds. He is always eager to learn new production techniques and he masters them quickly. Producing with the detail of a skilled artisan, UFO! continues to work his own blend of magic on the turntables, and in the studio.
